For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: Attempted to observe nest from Misery cove at 09:00 however foggy conditions prevented that. Plan on land visit soon.

Other Activity: Two adults on the nest and three nestlings, two of which were trying out their wings. still not many feathers on the wings

General Comments: I was fishing yesterday near Shad Creek and saw two ospreys perched together on the nest built on a large driftwood tree trunk west of Shad Creek. No nestlings visible and the pair flew away together leaving the nest vacant. 2020/07/01

Other Activity: Adult perched eating fish on dead tree...swooped onto nest to adult...I think there is a nestling. A bout ride out to check would be good.

Weather Conditions: 78 ℉ Mostly cloudy with patches of blue; steady, light wind
Other Activity: Long wait for feeding - one adult on nest & other not present; after about 1 1/2 hours the 2nd adult came to nest with food (dk what); adult on nest fed the youngster(s?) and then self; there were many sightings of baby but never two at the same time; at times baby stood up, sometimes spreading wings; adult which had brought food staying in near dead tree for many minutes before flying East; I did not observe an exchange of adults

General Comments: Baby seen was nearly as big as the adult on the nest but was only beginning to have feathers & was quite wobbly. The feather/fur pattern was partly gray with a lighter color speckled throughout.
