For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: One nestling visible with one adult. Earlier one adult bringing sticks to nest.

Observation Method: Scope from West beach.

General Comments: Adult Birds leave the nest often when people walk near it.

Other Activity: Male very active (like mating) when we arrived. He then left and returned with a twig. He perched on the upper perch and female remained perched on the nest.

Other Activity: Female perched, young below, male arrived with soft nesting material and 2 nestlings rose. Male left.

Other Activity: Both were perched on a small piece of driftwood about 25 yards from the nest. Didn't move from there while we watched.

Other Activity: Ivy is now leaving the nest to perch on the nearby marsh post. Jack stands by on the other marsh perch. They both watch the nest and as soon as the chicks start moving around, they both return to the nest.

Weather Conditions: 67°. Wind ESE @ 8 mph. Overcast

Other Activity: One adult perched and one chick observed. After 10 min. Second osprey arrived with one fish. Then shortly after both adult osprey departed from nest for 15 min. One adult returned.

Observation Method: Spotting scope from West beach Beverly.

General Comments: We were surprised to see both adult osprey leave the nest for such a long time.
