For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: Single adult, female(?) left nest as I arrived flew high in large circle to return for ‘touch and go’ at nest then flew to marsh 300yds south. Stayed there. No sign of any activity in the nest and no concern by adult for any contents of nest.Hatching failed ?

General Comments: This is the platform's first year (I think) so it may take some time to be discovered, if ever. But I did see an OSPR fishing on the other side of Eastern Point (Brace's Cove) a few days ago.

General Comments: the drizzle really obscured my view; hard to say if any OSPR were on the nest, but I didn't see any. None circling either. But I suspect the female was incubating and hunkered down.

Other Activity: Watched Dean through the scope from Island Road, and saw no osprey activity, adults or chicks. I came back to look because I hadn't seen any activity when I paddled to the nest, but then observed osprey when I was almost back to Island Road.

Other Activity: Yesterday, Bob brought in a flounder and all 4 birds were rejoicing.

General Comments: The two chicks are growing fast! Their necks no longer wobble. They are remarkably similar in size. Pauline is currently on the marsh post watching them.
