Other Activity: Both osprey were in the nest. 1 was in between lying down incubating and perching. The second was behind in the nest. It flew off onto the perch near the nest briefly, and then flew down and pulled off a fragment of debris hanging off the nest and carried it way off, and then returned and perched right behind the female(I assume). Both were then looking down into the nest, but I could see no little heads.

at: Essex
Number of Adults Visible: 3
Number of Nestlings Visible: 0
Number of Fledglings Visible: 0
Weather Conditions: 68, N at 8 mph, mostly cloudy
Other Activity: When I paddled out, there was an osprey circling over Dean Island carrying marsh debris. A second osprey came in and circled over. The tide was low to see Brophy well, so I started to head to Dean. The osprey carrying debris headed over to Brophy along with a second one. The female (I assume) started calling and stood up chasing off the one with the debris. I couldn't tell if the second osprey was the mate chasing it off or another intruder. I didn't see the chicks until later.
