For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Other Activity: 2 adult ospreys flying high overhead vocalizing loudly. 1 adult sitting upright in nest. Nestlings are hunkered down and probably sleeping out of my sight.

Other Activity: Adult was perched on a nearby snag, watching overlooking the nest. Two chicks were clearly visible, looking strong and healthy. They stretched and preened, with one of them walking around on the nest. At one point, a helicopter flew into the area, passing very close to the nest. The adult appeared concerned. I could not hear whether or not she vocalized. The chicks hunkered down in the nest and did not stand up again until the perceived danger had passed.

Other Activity: 2 adults , neiterh perched on nest. On perched on man-made perch nearby, other further perched on a low rock. Nest no bigger than last time--they seem to have stopped building it.

Other Activity: confusing again! Adult perched on edge of nest whole time. 2 young, one occasionlly flapped its wings for a minute. Then it came out of nest to edge and perched next to adult . They were about same size, perched in same position so could compare easily. Then youngster went back into nest, and again occasionally flapped wings again.
