For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Fledgling circled the nest a few times then dipped into the water and gathered debris and then dropped it. Then dipped at another location and brought it to the nest this time. Looked like sea weed. Another chick lifted above the nest up to five feet, several times, but did not leave the nest.

Other Activity: One adult, two fledglings, and one nestling in nest. Adult and two fledglings flew. Nestling stayed behind flapping, but not lifting off nest at first. eventually it lifted self about a foot off the nest. Visited by a fledgling briefly.

General Comments: Emerson was in the middle of texting you because I was concerned that the nestling may have been tethered to the nest, but it cleared nest enough to see it was free to go.
