Weather Conditions: 70F, very light wind and bright skies. Few clouds.
Other Activity: This was fascinating: at first, the female was alone in the nest and the male was far off. She went to find him, but came back alone. About 15 or 20 mins later, he came back and began a courtship "dance" in the sky. He flew circles around the nest, then up higher and higher until he was so high I couldn't even see him... once he came back down (very fast), he was sort-of treading air, hovering in one spot then going up and down, hovering at different levels, while at the same time calling to her - definitely showing off his skills! :) After this display, he landed on the nest with a fish! After this, they may have mated, but I didn't get a good enough view... after he ate the fish (didn't share!), they went off to get nesting material. Quite the exciting thing to observe!

Other Activity: Pair in flight over platform when I arrived. Two visitors were out on the marsh "observing" the activity. Pair seemed disturbed by visitor presence [There is zero cover and no chance to merge into background vegetation] and the pair finally settled down close together on the marsh the other side of Mud Creek from the platform.
