For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Busy day at the nest, observed adult bring fish then perch, while second adult fed nestling.

Observation Method: Boat

General Comments: Not sure if there are more than two nestlings. We plan on going on the Island Friday 6/18 for a closer look and take photos.

Other Activity: both osprey siiting on edge of nest looking like they are feeding chicks. Couldnt see the chicks yet. After a while he female lay back down in nest and male flew down to his perch stick nearby in the marsh

Weather Conditions: sunny, slight breeze

Observation Method: via home computer

General Comments: Both adults on nest; female feeding 2 chicks who look quite strong. Chicks are on either side of remaining egg, but a bit hard to see since nest is so deep. Male flew off to "staging" post near water and began grooming. Female continued feeding young and then doing some nest "housekeeping." Wonderful to see the chicks.
