For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: this nest has gotten very deep and very ragged around the top edges - it's going to be difficult to determine activity or young birds

Other Activity: When I arrived female was on nest, hunkered down low. Male arrived within a few minutes with a fish. They ate and then male flew down and perched on a nearby birdhouse. Female remained low in nest.

Weather Conditions: 63 degrees, 24 mph wind gust, slight cloud coverage

Other Activity: One Osprey was in the nest my whole visit, adjusting their position every so often presumably on the eggs, peeking out over the edge of the nest occasionally. The second osprey came back halfway through my visit with a fish, landed momentarily on the nest with the other osprey, but then flew over to light post to the left of the nest where they ate their catch.

Observation Method: Viewed from my vehicle at the cvs parking lot and on foot in the park.
