For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Male flew over from ten pound, stayed about 10 min. Then flew away

General Comments: Wish that male stayed longer on nest, also made more visits per day.

Weather Conditions: 81 degrees; sunny with clear blue sky; breezy; high tide

Other Activity: Another osprey flew by the nest, and soared over the Essex River before flying completely away.

Observation Method: On foot with binoculars.

General Comments: Female was on the separate perch pole, facing the nest. Then the Male came onto the nest with a large fish (longer than himself), and settled down into the nest.

Other Activity: at least I think it was a bird in the nest - the nest is very deep with a lot of sticks around the top edge; with that and the distance, differentiating between bird and debris blowing in the wind is difficult
