For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: It was hard to see as the nest is quite far away but it appeared that there was one osprey on the perch that is on the nest platform.

General Comments: First time observing this platform since installation. @ birds perched. Some nesting materials visible.

Weather Conditions: 60 degrees, clear light west

Other Activity: Female sitting low on the platform on a small nest. I heard her calling for her mate with a begging call and saw the male fly from the perching post to the nest to join the female. The perching post is obscured by tall phragmites. Later the male flew back to the perching post. When I rode by an hour later they were perched together on the platform.
