For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: On the way back we encountered a snapping turtle near where we parked. We suspect it laid eggs somewhere nearby. Perhaps in the sand pile nearby?

Observation Method: We observed from the viewing platform with binoculars

General Comments: We could see one osprey's head bobbing up and down in the nest.

Other Activity: osprey flew up to nest with fish. Other osprey took fish and flew to nearby pier to eat it. Osprey left in the nest then started incubating eggs

Other Activity: one bird on nest, and is active, but I can't tell if it's feeding a chick, or what; second bird on post perch also, to east of the platform site, in the river, there's both a snag and a post, and a perched on each; and there's also two more birds perched on the roof of the green cabin - I have no idea which, if any, nesting sites any of these four "extra" birds might belong to
