For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: ( First, the male was nest sitting, and the female was perched on the nearby pole. The male left the nest, and the female took up nest duty.)

General Comments: The male osprey was perched on the perching post on the nest. The female has not been seen during the past 5 or 6 days, neither by me nor by a friend who walks the trail twice a day. The friend also has observed a great horned owl hooting at dusk in a woods close to the nest. Could be the reason she is missing.
