Weather Conditions: High 70’s, mostly sunny, wind to 10 mph at times

Other Activity: Perching, feeding, nest maintenance

Observation Method: By scope and binoculars from our house

General Comments: We have been watching this pair consistently since early April when the male first arrived. The female came a few days later. They worked with determination to prepare the nest. We believe they laid eggs in early May. Eggs must have hatched in early June, though hatchlings not visible until later in June. At this point (July 4) three hatchlings are visible regularly. At times, female leaves nest for short durations. Hatchlings more likely to test wings. Male generally perched nearby, female on the nest.

General Comments: Occasionally adult on nest would stand up and then sit down again. There was a bird that I think was an osprey perched on the perch very close to nest, had the white head, seemed smaller but hard to tell, and looked too brown for osprey. Still wonder if color was due to light and it was an osprey
