Number of Adults Visible: 2

Number of Nestlings Visible: 2

Number of Fledglings Visible:

Weather Conditions: Calm, 78F, no wind, clear

Other Activity: This is the 2nd time I've observed what I'll call "flight lessons". M flies off while F finishes feeding the nestlings, then F flies off. This gives the "kids" some time to spread their wings and hop around on the nest. Then one parent begins calling and flying around the nest as if s/he is saying "watch closely". The adult is demonstrating very deliberate flapping and soaring technique. Kiddos are rapt.

Observation Method: On foot from Independence Park with binocs.

General Comments: Note to anyone who reads this: the viewing machine ar the top of the stairs has great magnification for watching them!
