For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Nestling was perched in the nest and adult was perched on the edge. The size of the nestling and coloration on the front was almost identical to the adult. The back still has white speckling on the black.

Other Activity: The adult only come onto the nest for a moment, didn't appear to deliver any food, and then left again. All 3 nestlings were perched and 1 was exercising its wings a lot, and getting a few inches of lift off the nest.

Other Activity: One of the young flew up a few feet and landed in place. A few minutes later it left the nest and returned sometime later to the rocks below. Then it left again.

Other Activity: Male perched on the far rail of the platform, 2 young perched on the nest and the 3rd was only visible from the neck up. Later the male left and circled around with another osprey and then left the area. One of the young then couched down with the other, leaving only one perched.

Observation Method: Vehicle from Avon St. and again from Margin St.

General Comments: There were 4 bodies on the nest and I'm pretty sure 3 were chicks. The nest is small & they were crowded together. The female was feeding the chicks.

Other Activity: The oldest was doing more pre-flight hopping and wing flapping. This time he/she was able to hop/flap almost as high as the post on the nesting platform. Looking good!
