Where are Osprey Nesting?
For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: 3 fledglings still connected to nest. All 3 fly off from time to time. More likely to want to roost in separate locations, two on perches nearby, one on the nest. Occasionally 2 or all 3 together on the nest. Male adult seems to deliver fish now and then. Fledglings calling almost continually throughout the day. Behavior suggests fledglings still not successful at fishing for themselves. Female adult not seen today.
Observation Method: From yard and house throughout the day
General Comments: Fledgling birds still recognizable because of speckled appearance. Slight white rim at the end of each feather.
