For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. General Comments: Each watched chick as the other took flight. He seems to be comfortable sitting occasionally on far perch while chick in nest. Now, She is doting on her chick. I’ve only seen 1 head for sure so far. He is on far perch.

Other Activity: We could hear the female who was perched on the nest calling shortly after crossing the channel from Brophy. The male had been perched on the nearby post. He then flew over the marsh, turned around and brought a fish to the nest. She still continued calling, and did not make any motion to eat the fish. He flew out again, came back and landed on the nest. June 10th was the last day chicks were visible.

Other Activity: The osprey perched on the nest was calling before we came through the channel towards the nest. As we got close, it flew off and over to a tree on Choate Island. No chicks observed here since June 16th.

Other Activity: We could hear the female on the nest calling way before we got close. As we arrived near the nest, the male flew in with a stick. She continued to call and call. He perched on the nest with her. She was still calling as we headed to Dean Island.

General Comments: It is interesting that the Round Island pair left the nest right after something happened to their eggs, and I haven't observed them at the nest since, but the Brophy pair, Dean Island pair and Great Bank continue at the nest without their chicks.
