For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: There was no osprey visible on the nest although the nest is deep and she could have been incubating. One osprey was flying around the area.

Other Activity: She must be incubating... she is low in the nest but looking over the edge, waiting for lunch delivery. Then he comes bac (no lunch) and they do some preening of each other. He scratches around in the nest and settles in beside her... probably to get out of the wind. They were both on the nest when I left.

Other Activity: Female on perch over nest, and male landed on top of her and they copulated, then he perched nest to her! I have hopes they will actually lay eggs!

Other Activity: 1 on nest, then 2nd arrived and both standing, then one left, and 1st sat down again. @nd flew off over marsh and encountered another osprey, and the two kept flying at each other without touching and going down then parting and going up and starting again, then 3rd osprey flew away over marsh and other (2nd) flew to tower near nest.
