For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Other Activity: F was incubating eggs, and M was on a boat nearby. He flew off, higher and higher in the sky... At first I thought he was going to go fishing but then he started doing a peculiar behaviour... flying straight up then nose diving down for a few seconds, only to do it again. I thought I had see them do this as a courtship ritual but then I noticed a turkey vulture flying over. Maybe a distraction? He went back to fishing after the se other bird left, brought a fish back but ate it perches on the boat. Maybe I missed a hand-off and that was the F eating.

Weather Conditions: 55 degrees, partly sunny, light wind. Following a night of strong down pouring rain.
Other Activity: Adult osprey spread wings multiple times and then flew from nest. Perched on nearby sailboat for a period of time. Then flew back and landed on sandbar below nest but flew off again quickly. Did not return to nest. Able to take multiple pictures of the adult flying. Possibly there was another adult in the nest but could not be certain as it was crouched down.
Observation Method: On foot, on jetty at Independence park. Binoculars, scope, and camera.

Other Activity: Incubation continues, Pair seem well matched as intruder disrupted incubation and was quickly challenged by the male who drove off the intruder. A guard was established and no further interruptions were observed. I have marked June 13th as day chick should hatch.

General Comments: I believe what happens at new-07 this year will be a successful new breeding platform for the osprey program.

Other Activity: She sitting on nest, other one came and landed, stayed for a couple minutes then left again and flew around and flew toward ocean. Didn't see fish in his talons but might have missed it. Didn't see her eating after he left either.

Other Activity: So today was interesting. The mail from platform number one was sitting eating a fish on the marsh. Female was also in the nest on platform number one. He flew with a fish and thinking he may bring it to platform number one he brought it to platform number two and she took the fish and flew into the tree and at this moment she is eating it. He is sitting on eggs. in platform number two

General Comments: This is the most unusual thing I have ever seen a polygamist male with two females on eggs.
