For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Weather Conditions: 59 degrees, cloudy, hazy, some blue skies, low tide (was at 9:08 AM) - helpful today for me, wind SE 11 mph, beautiful weather morning at a beautiful place
Other Activity: No Osprey observed at or in the nest this morning. At 10 :50 AM, an Osprey flew across from the creek area behind the nest, carrying fish or material - then perched directly on the marsh and remained there for my visit. Another Osprey flew near the nest area, and soared immediately off to the right. Thinking things are amiss at the nest, I set off across the marsh to investigate......cont. in Observation Method notes.
Observation Method: On foot, down the grass road to the rocky road across from nest, then decided to walk across the marsh to the base of the Osprey nest - since there was no nest activity. At the base of the nest, there was no destructive evidence. I do not know if there are/were eggs in the nest. At least there were 2 adult flyers. Last week's behavior was that they were tending to eggs on the nest.
