Other Activity: Got an up close look at this new platform - there was an osprey who stayed low in the nest during the entire observation so I assume that this is a female that is incubating. Does this make sense, given that it is a new platform/nest? I guess I expected a housekeeping pair rather than a breeding pair.
Observation Method: Kayak
General Comments: No male presence during 2 out of the 3 observations I did today in Essex basin (Great Bank and Dilly) however, as I paddled back to Conomo Point at about 1:30, two ospreys were circling overhead over the water between Cross Island and the marsh towards Lufkin Creek.
