For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: One osprey in nest platform. Only one nestling sighted. Nest includes multiple dangling embellishments. It also looks a little bit in disarray at the leading edge from viewpoint.. Two Osprey sighted to the northeast sitting on the marsh grasses - a third came into viewing at the same time. Total of 4 adults observed.

Other Activity: 1 adult on upper post / one nestling standing and exercising his wings for a few wing flaps briefly / followed by all quiet in the nest

Observation Method: scope from home

General Comments: hard to see a second nestling as the nest is getting higher edges probably to accommodate protection for the growing chicks.

Weather Conditions: Warm, cloudy, humid

Other Activity: Observed one bird (F, probably) perched on the nest with the active nestling. She flew off a couple of times, and mate was seen on a nearby pole with a fish. She kept calling to him, and he finally flew back to the nest with (half of) the fish.

Observation Method: On foot

General Comments: Baby looks like it's testing out its wings to fly!
