For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: No visible Osprey, only activity was the fabric pieces in nest blowing with the wind gusts

Observation Method: Vehicle, viewed from the CVS parking lot this time and not the park.

General Comments: No Osprey tonight, but there was a an adorable woodchuck hanging out nearby

Weather Conditions: outgoing tide, 64 degrees, sunny

Other Activity: This was an interesting visit. One osprey in nest, then two...they mated. Two other osprey were screaming in the marsh, swooping and flying at a 3 year old bald eagle who was just sitting there...maybe eating a fish. Eventually the osprey calmed down, although the eagle stayed....two of the osprey flew to a tree area to the left of the nest, still calling out.

General Comments: Well, hard to believe, but have confirmed 2nd observer. Osprey on perch; 2nd osprey landed on top of first just stood looking around.
