For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Male (assumed) perched on lower pylon probably eating; female not visible. 7:20pm female standing on nest, fluffing feathers, bobbing motion, male still on pylon. 7:31 male brought something to nest. He watches, she bobs. (Assumed) They were still there at 7:42. At 7:49 I could only see one perched on nest edge then he (?) was gone. Maybe perched below, I couldn't tell for sure

Other Activity: Observed one bird perched lower on the tower then bring a big fish up to the nest. She came out of the nest and began actively feeding chicks. I (think) I saw 2 little heads, but time will tell...

Weather Conditions: 73 degrees F, almost no wind
Other Activity: Both osprey were calling before we arrived at the nest area, and both then took off from the nest and flew around. One osprey was chased by a smaller bird. The other returned and landed on a tree nearby, and then flew off. It flew around for a bit again and eventually landed on the nest.

Other Activity: The most recent observations showed the female hunkered down low in the nest without movement. On this date, she was more erect and moving around the nest. She event took off for a very short flight. With this activity , I sensed that her eggs may have hatched although i couldn’t see any little heads inside the nest.
