For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Other Activity: Female is sitting on the nest still, male is sitting on the marsh perch drying his wet wings. Hopefully the weather will clear to see if the eggs have hatched. I am thinking next week or the week after. This may be a big clutch since she had already mated with another male and again mated with the present one. We will see.

Observation Method: On foot with binoculars.
General Comments: One Osprey was perched on the outer part of the nest. No other Ospreys around that I could see. At last check it appeared there were issues with this nest. I still believe that to be true. The pair had been hanging around the Wingaersheek Salt Marsh Platform, which is adjacent to this one. There has definitely been activity over there as a substantial size nest has been built, but no sightings there today.

Other Activity: 7:44 2 perched on nest edge 7:46 one perched on nest edge bobbing. I think I see a baby head! Yes! It moved. Mama opens wings a few times. 7:51 she subsides but then perches and flaps some more. Same again then settles around 7:55 7;59 2 adults on nest. I missed him arrive 8:01 he leaves, circles high? Disappears 8:05 she has settled I left 8:10
