For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: We monitored the nest for a while twice yesterday while boating out and back up river. Both times there was one adult Osprey perched. We did not see the second Osprey at all yesterday. We went by again today and there were no Osprey to be seen.

Other Activity: on adult on post perch, one adult and one juv in nest - that adult flew off, returned with beak full of wet grasses, then proceeded to do a lot of calling; juv is doing wing stretches - I never saw more than one chick

General Comments: Both birds were perched and did not appear to be moving too much. I wanted to confirm they were still in the nest after the severe overnight weather.
