Where are Osprey Nesting?
For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: One chick was flying around away from the nest and then landed on the nearby dead tree where the other chick was perched. Olivia was on the nest watching all of this.

Other Activity: Both the resident male and resident female were flying to challenge an intruding osprey and left the nestling on the nest. When the intruder flew away, the resident female rejoined the nestling on the nest and the male landed to perch on platform 3, his normal perch. The nestling is getting quite big with noticeable coloration. I have not yet seen it flex its wings.

Other Activity: Could not really confirm if it was an adult or young osprey. He / She was stationary and did not appear to be too active.

Other Activity: One adult Osprey flew from nest and caught a fish. He/She returned to the tower but perched below the nest and ate the fish. It appeared to be two younger Osprey in the nest. Lighter colored. One fluffed his/her wings but otherwise they did not appear to be able to fly yet.
