For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Three hatchlings were standing in nest. After a while, adult male came to nest with a fish and was feeding chicks.

Other Activity: The whole osprey family were sitting together at first. Later one adult left the nest.

Observation Method: Rowing in a pilot gig with the Gloucester Gig Rowing Club from Maritime Gloucester at Harbor Loop, Gloucester

General Comments: Both adults were sitting on the edges of the nest and two fledglings were sitting in the nest.

Other Activity: Terns are still around fishing. What I could see on the nest was one adult perched. It looks like there are two little heads visible, and one of them flexed its wings and then settled down, so I don’t think there’s more than one or two; still the mate has not appeared.
