For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: Observed this platform from Cox. Using my camera, I could clearly see the pair on the nest mating.

General Comments: female sitting on the platform with male. Male flew off and when I had done the loop at Cox I caught him flying back in with a fish over head. Must be lots of fish in the area, because I see them flying over head constantly with them in their talons.

General Comments: From the Cox viewing platform, I could clearly see one osprey sitting on the nest. Not my typical report, but it was fun to see from Cox.

Other Activity: Two Ospreys observed. Both sitting side-by-side on perch.

General Comments: Also observed four Glossy Ibis. No Osprey observed at other DCR platform

Other Activity: First sighting of the year at this location. The osprey was sitting on the nest. A second osprey was soaring around the general area.

Observation Method: On foot

General Comments: It is shocking how low and loud the flights from Logan come to this location. The flight path is nearly right over the top of this platform. Plenty of sea and marsh birds sighted nearby.
