For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: One osprey on the nest, active but no sign of the other one yet.

Observation Method: on foot at Independence Park

General Comments: The debris on the nest that I saw a couple of days before seems to be gone. That's good news! Now hopefully the mate comes back.

Weather Conditions: Sunny, no wind, upper 60's

Other Activity: Multiple Ospreys observed over platform. 3-4 sighted and seemingly vying for platform.

Observation Method: On foot from loop road and Bear Creek walking path.

General Comments: This platform is a the very top of the high-tension tower. After a few false starts location this platform, clearly there's now a ton of activity!

Other Activity: Single Osprey sitting on nest/platform.

Observation Method: On foot from Bear Creek loop/fire road

General Comments: Clear viewing area made to view this platform. This platform does have a bit of a tilt to it. Seems to be stable.

Other Activity: Crows were hassling the nesting Osprey and it flew out of the nest. another Osprey joined soon after and both soared together over the nest for a fair amount of time.
