For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Weather Conditions: Sunny quite breezy 65, tide coming in, high at 7 pm
Other Activity: 4:25: One adult on nest, moving occasionally 4:29 a second adult touches briefly at nest then alights on a lower strut, I think eating. 4:34 the one on nest flew out briefly and then back to nest, still moving occasionally 4:47 a third Osprey checks out the nest and flies to the next pylon over on the shore side 4:48 ish the one beneath the nest flies up to the third Osprey and dislodges it. The third one flies away to northwest ish. The second stays on the second pylon. All the while the one on nest stays put. 4:57 ish: it appears the second adult has returned to nest pylon. Now there's one on nest and one just beyond nest on the top of the pylon. I don't know which is which, ie whether the second flew back to nest and the first hopped out to pylon-- didn't see one fly from one pylon to the 'home' one but checked that the 'not home' pylon further along the shore was empty. 5:00 the one on nest appears to mount the one on pylon. Stays for maybe 10-15 seconds? 5:05 a second mating then the male flies away, female (I assume) stays on pylon 5:14 she hops back on nest 5:16 an adult circles the nest and flies off across the cove (while one is still on the nest), the flying one was observed soaring on the opposite side of the cove from the pylon

Other Activity: Observed 3 osprey flying high above the marsh; sometimes fishing, and for a very short time 2 were on the nest (one was a male), and were flying around the platform together.
Observation Method: On foot next to my car with binoculars
General Comments: It appears as though there is more material on the platform just since yesterday.
