For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: adult was vibrating and screeching repeatedly which I could hear through open windows / watched at length until a large predator flew into the scope view around the nest / the osprey rose up flapping its wings enough to fend it off. did not get as long enough view to identify the predator but looked to be either an owl or juvenile eagle coloring. BIG wingspan!
