For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: As I arrived one adult was delivering fish to the nest and I glimpsed the other on the nest. The first one retired below to a strut. They were still in these positions when I left.

Weather Conditions: 78 degrees; light wind; high thin clouds; low tide
Other Activity: Male Osprey on the pole perch near the nest platform eating a fish; Female sitting deep in the nest, presumably on eggs. Her head was just barely visible above the top edge of the nest.
Observation Method: On foot with binoculars.
General Comments: Curiously, as I was walking back to my car, I observed another Osprey in flight above me, carrying a big fish in it's talons. I wonder where this bird was headed with its catch?
