For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Weather Conditions: 78 degrees; light wind; high thin clouds; low tide

Other Activity: Male Osprey on the pole perch near the nest platform eating a fish; Female sitting deep in the nest, presumably on eggs. Her head was just barely visible above the top edge of the nest.

Observation Method: On foot with binoculars.

General Comments: Curiously, as I was walking back to my car, I observed another Osprey in flight above me, carrying a big fish in it's talons. I wonder where this bird was headed with its catch?

General Comments: single osprey perch on platform perch. It was low tide and I was in my boat so it was hard to see if there was a second osprey in the nest, but I did not think so.

Weather Conditions: Warm (~75°), windy

Other Activity: One osprey deep in the nest, presumably incubating, abd calling periodically. The other bird was perched on the tower below. They stayed like that for the whole time I was there.

Observation Method: On foot from street. I tried a few different vantage points.

General Comments: There was another bird calling towards the end but I didn't see it.

General Comments: the two adults circled around as we each had a turn on the ladder. Three beautiful spotted eggs were in the nest.

Weather Conditions: sunny, about 78 degrees, very little wind

Other Activity: Initially 1 osprey was on the perch and 1 was up on the edge of the nest. A few minutes later nither bird was at the nest. Then 1 flew in carrying a stick into the nest.
