For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: One Osprey was in nest with head visible. Moved around and continuously lowered head and raised it. I could not confirm if there were nestlings but the way the bird was acting she appeared to be busying herself with activity in the nest. During the observation time another adult osprey flew back and perched on tower near nest. He continued to raise and lower his wings.
Observation Method: In vehicle with binoculars at the end of Osgood Street.

Other Activity: Two adult osprey were perched on nest and continued to look down and were attentive to the nest. With the veiwer at independence park I believe I observed one or two small heads moving in the nest. I hope to get closer on my paddle board in the coming days to confirm.
