For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Initially 1 osprey was on the nest. Then a second flew in with a stick and both were perched in/on the nest for a few minutes. No little heads were visible and it did not appear they were intereacting with any young in the nest. The second osprey flew out after a few minutes.

General Comments: She finally raised her head and moved a little so I new she was there! Huge nest. Male landed on perch over nest and left quickly

Weather Conditions: Sunny 60 degrees light wind < 5MPH

Other Activity: One Osprey was in nest with head visible. Moved around and continuously lowered head and raised it. I could not confirm if there were nestlings but the way the bird was acting she appeared to be busying herself with activity in the nest. During the observation time another adult osprey flew back and perched on tower near nest. He continued to raise and lower his wings.

Observation Method: In vehicle with binoculars at the end of Osgood Street.
