For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Other Activity: One osprey was perched in nest appeared busy with activity in the nest. A few minutes into the observation another adult osprey returned to nest and perched on edge. He did not appear to have a fish but after he arrived the osprey in the nest went in deeper out of view.

Weather Conditions: 86 humid, faint breeze, mostly cloudy some sun
Other Activity: Checked nest yesterday. At usual time after 5 pm-nothing visible. Changed to am to see if more action. Two nestling visible in nest on my arrival. Within couple of minutes female flew off nest over to post perch, pushed male of perch, piece of fish fell to ground. Female back to nest followed by male with fish. Male stayed briefly. Female starts feeding chicks. When finished female moves and I see the head of a third smaller nestling.!. Female begins sheltering two smaller nestling from sun.

Other Activity: One osprey on hunting shed at time of initial sighting (#!) Viewed from Rt. 107 at 9:10AM - second Osprey observed at base of platform (#2) / original sighted was still on perch / nearby - another two spotted on grasses way out in the marsh (#3-#4). Another (#5) in-flight flying east to west.
Observation Method: Bushwhacked to edge of marsh with scope and binoculars.)
