Where are Osprey Nesting?
For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: The resident male delivered a fish to the nest and then perched on platform 3. The female was feeding all three nestlings. They are well-developed and have been flapping their wings, but none of them have fledged yet.
Observation Method: from bedroom window
General Comments: The male is a good provider, but typically first brings a fish to his perch on platform 3 and feeds on it first while the female calls repeatedly for him to bring the fish to the nest. Eventually he responds and brings a partly eaten fish to the nest for the female to feed to the chicks. She often begs for a long time before he responds.
