For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Weather Conditions: 75 degrees. Mostly sunny. Light wind.

Other Activity: On arrival, Female was standing in nest and tending to something beneath her. After roughly 5 minutes, Male arrived at nest with a fish. Male and female were feeding. Male flew down to nearby perch and continued feeding. Then female began feeding chicks. Appeared that there were two small heads.

Other Activity: Both adults on or near the nest. Male brought in two sticks presumably “crib rails.” May have seen one little head! Female on the nest the whole time looking down into nest.

Weather Conditions: Cloudy, cool at 67f w breeze. W 5 mph, gusts 11 (incorrect: gusts more like 17mph). Lovely for a change

Other Activity: Quiet, a few seagulls

General Comments: She ate, stretched her winds and they switched places. She flew off while he sat in nest. About 8:15 she came back with a very small fish & took her place; he to perch. She ate again few nibbles and is resting.
