For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: female arrived and hovered over platform with male perched, she hovered and was vocal for about 10 mins. She landed on Platform 2 with Male. They mated a number of times. They took turns flying back and forth to Platform 1 & 2.

Weather Conditions: Light breeze and some gusts, 60, mostly overcast, tide outgoing halfway

Other Activity: WhenI arrived there were two: One in nest, one below on strut. Upper one took off and returned very soon with fish. Lower one flew up to nest briefly ? Attempted mating, ? flew off Returned to strut 4;55 with fish I think, bobbing as if eating--hard to see I left at 5:00 with same setup: one on nest and one below. I looked back on my way back and the strut one was just leaving the nest, having made a food delivery

Other Activity: Osprey, I think male, continues to make repairs to last year's nest. I have seen him a few times this weekend at work on the nest. No sign of mate, yet.

Observation Method: Walked to rear of MBTA repair facilities viewed through the trees/chain league fence. With binoculars.

General Comments: This trail at the rear of the facility is completely trashed! Seems to have turned into a homeless encampment. I will contact DCR.
