For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: On my way back to the marina I observed a fledgling perched on the nest.

Other Activity: Fledgling perched on nest as I approached. When I got close it took flight and circled around the nest. As I started to leave the creek it made several attempts to land on the nest but kept missing. It finally was successful on the 4th attempt.

Other Activity: Nest was empty when I arrived but there appeared to be a fledgling flying from Dean Island back over Brophy but did not land.

Other Activity: 1 fledgling on nest. 1 adult on nearby utility pole eating, then flew off. 2nd fledgling flew onto nest.

General Comments: osprey facing me, and distance too far, couldn;t be 1005 sure it was a fledgling but doubt that an adult would land on nest and just stay there the way this one did. Had borrowed SCOPE

Other Activity: 1 fledgling on nest, spread its wings. Adult did very fast "food-drop" and immediately flew away. Fledgling started eating right away.

Weather Conditions: 70F, light SW wind, sunny

Other Activity: Adult perched on dayboard. Another adult (very dark feathers) with small fish landed on nest, looked around then left with the same fish. Later the nestling arose and began feeding on something that was in the nest.

Observation Method: By scope from Harbormaster hill on Winter Island.

General Comments: The adult on SLM-05 had no reaction to the adult that landed on the nest. Was it an adult or a fledgling from another nest? It was small but very dark, almost shiny.
