Nest Name:
ESS-11 - Dean Island Platform
Adult Osprey Activity Observed:
Osprey Incubating Eggs or Chicks
Location, Date & Time of Observation:
2025-04-15
1:00 PM to 1:30 PM
at: Essex
Number of Adults Visible: 2
Number of Nestlings Visible: 0
Number of Fledglings Visible: 0
Weather Conditions: mostly cloudy, 57 degrees, light to moderate wind, high tide, pretty clear view across the marsh through the scope
Other Activity: I was scanning between 5 nests, but checking Dean more than the others. The entire time 1 osprey was down in the nest in that incubating position. The other osprey was going out into the marsh and then back into the nest. It did this 4 times while I watched. The final time it either brought in a fish or marsh fluff/debris, but I couldn't tell. I first observed this pair at the nest on March 25th. I will recheck tomorrow to see if she still appears to be inclubating.
Observation Method: through scope from Island Rd.
