For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: There has been very little activity from other ospreys around the nest. Only occasional fly-bys and not much challenging. Much less than in prior years.

Other Activity: One on nest, one on strut upon my arrival. The lower one was eating. A few minutes later the one on strut took off, and the one on nest flapped and resettled. Then the other one returned to nest briefly then flew off again. It flew around sometimes hovering and sometimes landing on exposed rock. The rock was partly submerged and the Osprey flapped around as in a birdbath. After awhile it returned to strut. They were back to one on nest and one on strut when I left.

Other Activity: Looks like new male, smaller than the previous. Apparently fed the female and they attempted to mate afterward. Looked like the charge was blown away by the wind.
