For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: The residents are perched together on Platform 1 by the river. The male flew away and later returned to mate with the female.

Observation Method: from bedroom window

General Comments: Yesterday I saw a brief skirmish as the resident pair chased an intruding osprey away. The locals have added nesting material to the nest on platform 2. The female spends most of her time perched on the nest.
