For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: Both members of pair perched on nest. Considerable nest construction in the past week. Amount of other birds attempting to claim site has diminished. Pair seems well on target to lay eggs.

Other Activity: Later during the observation time she was standing at the side of the nest, and looked much larger. There was no sign of a male osprey.
Observation Method: On foot with binoculars.
General Comments: Saw one female Osprey sitting down in the center (and the deepest part) of the nest, so much so that the bird looked small in stature.
