For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: No ospreys visible when I arrived. At about 5:05 three appeared soaring around the pylon. One peeled off, one kept soaring, one landed on the lower part of the pylon. The soaring one disappeared. When I left there was still one on the pylon.

Weather Conditions: About 58 degrees, breezy NE wind, sunny
Other Activity: Initially 1 osprey was on the nest moving some material around in the middle of the nest, and 1 osprey was on the nearby post. The osprey in the nest then joined the one on the post for a few minutes. Both then flew off the post and 1 landed on the nest post. The second landed on top of her and appeared to be mating.
