For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: The female has likely been sitting on eggs for much of the past week, based on her continued presence in the nest. The male has been regularly present. Female seemed to be feeding at one point yesterday, so presumable the male is supplying here with fish.

Other Activity: upon arrival no osprey were sighted. After 5-10 minutes one flew in and fed on large rock near nest. A second adult arrived and landed close to feeding adult then flew away after 5 minutes. The feeding osprey visited the nest briefly before going back to the rock and continue feeding.
