For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: When I arrived both birds were on the nest, with one sitting inside and the other perched on the edge of the nest. After a little bit the Osprey inside the nest got up and flew over to the light post to the left of the nest, where it sat for the last 20 minutes of my visit. The other osprey at the nest went back and forth between sitting inside the nest or back to perching on the edge.

Observation Method: Vehicle, observed from the parking lot mostly but got out and observed for a little on foot.
