Number of Adults Visible: 0

Number of Fledglings Visible: 0
Weather Conditions: 59 degrees; cloudy; light wind; low tide
Other Activity: An employee of The Governors Academy told me that there are reports of an eagle's nest as well as an owl's nest nearby the Middle Road platform. However, when I was driving near the Mill River a quarter of a mileaway from the Middle Road side of the GDA campus, I spotted two individual osprey-like birds flying over Rte 1. My recommendation is to have someone investigate the Mill River basin area for the presence of an active Osprey nest in perhaps a large white pine tree! (The last time I was here I observed an Osprey eating a fish while perched on a dead tree limb that was directly overhead Rte 1 next to the Mill River.)
Observation Method: In a car on Middle Road and on foot to near the GDA Alfond Science Center
General Comments: No evidence of any build-up of a nest on the platform since my last visit. No osprey visible on the platform; on nearby trees or flying over the Parker River.

Number of Adults Visible: 2
Number of Nestlings Visible: 0
Number of Fledglings Visible: 0
Weather Conditions: 52, calm, overcast, tide halfway in
Other Activity: When I arrived there was one Osprey peeking above the nest rim. Soon a second one arrived clutching a very long stick or maybe cloth ? It fluttered behind him. Then the second one flew over the cove to hunt. It didn't take long to catch a good sized fish, nearly submerging the bird in the process. The bird barely got airborne but reached the rocky shore. From there it seemed to take part of the fish to a nearby light post. When I left, it was still eating and the other hadn't stirred from the nest.
Observation Method: On foot, binoculars, from across cove
