For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: They were not eating or mating, but just sitting next to one another on the nest for a time.
Observation Method: On foot with binoculars.
General Comments: One osprey on the nest; was joined by another. Then the second one left the nest, and landed on the separate pole perch.

Other Activity: Could not see any mating or fish eating. The two were just sitting side by side.
Observation Method: On foot in 2 places with binoculars.
General Comments: I think a male osprey was on the separate pole perch; then another larger osprey, probably the female, sat on the nest on the platform. Eventually the male on the pole perch joined the female on the nest.
